Seasonal characters are the only way to participate in the latest Diablo 4 content. For Season 1, that means all content tied to the Season of the Malignant requires the use of a Seasonal character.

For a more detailed look at the latest patch, check out my guide on all the class changes in Diablo 4 Season 1.

Seasonal characters and Eternal characters are entirely different in Diablo 4 Season 1, and depending on Diablo 4 Gold which realm you play in, your experience will be different. Before jumping into the season, I’ll go over what creating a Seasonal Character really means and why you should make one.
What are Seasonal Characters in Diablo 4?

Seasonal characters are the only way to participate in the latest Diablo 4 content. For Season 1, that means all content tied to the Season of the Malignant requires the use of a Seasonal character. On top of content, you also need these characters to level up the Battle Pass.
Aside from the Seasonal content, there are no other major differences between the Eternal Realm and the Seasonal Realm. They both share the same loot pool and the same balance changes. Even the map and the standard Dungeons will still be available in both Diablo 4 realms. But if you want new content, then you need a Seasonal character.

What are Eternal Realm Characters in Diablo 4?
Eternal Realm characters are essentially just permanent characters that don’t change with the seasons. When you make a seasonal character, and one of them ends after a few months, then they will move to Diablo 4 Gold for sale the Eternal realm where they can live out their retired days.
