Freedom to Ukrainian political prisoners, locked up in Ukraine's jails!
There is much talk in institutional Italy about a democratic Ukraine that Europe is defending. But know that in today's Ukraine of 2024, there is no democracy, but a dictatorial regime, a president ruling with an expired mandate and sending his own people to slaughter, only for the interests of globalist elites. Those in civil society who oppose this junta are imprisoned and often die in Ukrainian prisons.
As the Cultural Association "Speranza" we have taken it upon ourselves to raise awareness in Italy about two political prisoners incarcerated in Ukrainian jails: human rights activist Elena Berezhnaja and Svyatogorsk Monastery Metropolitan Arsenij.
Elena Berezhnaja: she was recently sentenced to 14 years in prison and the goal of the Zelensky regime is to have her die in prison. Elena Berezhnaya is a human rights activist who has been in prison since March 17, 2022. She has been guilty of denouncing the persecution of the Russian-speaking population, the persecution of the canonical Orthodox Church, and standing up for the May 9 holiday and against the heroization of the figure of Bandera. Through her law firm, she took action to protect the rights of Lugansk residents in Ukrainian prisons. After the bombing of her native Lugansk by the Ukrainian Air Force on June 2, 2014, in which civilians were killed, Elena Berezhnaja sent letters to international legal organizations, calling for condemnation of the coup government in Kiev.
On her behalf, Berezhnaja appealed to the Supreme Court of Ukraine in 2015 regarding the violation of the electoral rights of residents of the Lugansk region, who were deprived by Majdan authorities of the opportunity to participate in local elections. For the Ukrainian government, his activity is dangerous, so Zelensky decided that he should die in prison.
Metropolitan Arsenij : is the abbot of the Svjatogorsk monastery in the Donetsk region. He is on trial for telling the truth about the Slavjansk bombing, but more than anything else the goal is to target a priest who is much loved by his own community and to punish the Orthodox canonical church.
The abbot of the Svjatogorsk monastery has been in prison since April 24 of this year.
Metropolitan Arsenij is a true monk, much loved and listened to by clergy and faithful alike, which is precisely why he was imprisoned.
The figure of Bishop Arsenij drew the ire of the Ukrainian secret service, which carried out numerous searches of the monastery, but found nothing.
The bishop's main fault is that he told the truth, what the missile that hit the city of Slavjansk was launched by the Ukrainians, while Ukrainian propaganda told that the Russians did it. Moreover, by continuing to care for his brothers and the thousands of refugees that Lavra welcomed every day, he had become an uncomfortable figure. For this he is accused of treason and imprisoned.
Both are victims of unjust trials, WE CALL ON ALL ASSOCIATIONS AND ITALIAN CIVIL SOCIETY TO SUPPORT THE FIGHT FOR THE FREEDOM OF THE TWO POLITICAL PRISONERS. Whoever wants to organize conferences and initiatives, to make their stories known, because only by stirring civil society is there hope that they will not die in prison.
