Ahead of the Lok Sabha 2024 election, the draft manifesto was presented to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge by the manifesto committee of the party.
Speaking to the media on draft manifesto presented to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, party MP Shashi Tharoor said, “…The manifesto that we presented to Mallikarjun Kharge after many serious and intense meetings, including 2 full sessions of over 4 hours each, in the last couple of days – that manifesto has still to be submitted to the Congress Working Committee. So, after Mallikarjun Kharge reviews it, he will decide to submit it to the Working Committee”.
“The Working Committee, in turn, can amend it or approve it or approve with amendments. Once it is approved, only then does it become the Congress party’s official position and them we will share it with you. I can broadly say that the manifesto is looking into various aspects of the economic well-being of the India people. That, for us, is a major priority. But of course, we cover all sorts of issues…Nyay is a big theme, we want to bring justice to all sections of our society, particularly those who have been underprivileged. So, Nyay is kind of overarching concept…You will see when the final product comes out”, he added.
